Creating a gut microbiota profile is especially useful when symptoms are present. But even without symptoms, it's a way to explore yourself and your health. It provides a snapshot and reveals a lot about your current gut health and overall well-being. An unhealthy lifestyle and diet can lead to long-term intestinal problems, immune deficiencies, intolerances, and even more serious problems such as allergies and chronic intestinal diseases. It's advisable to conduct one or more follow-up tests to truly determine the change.

In your dashboard (my.biomes.world/) there is a person icon in the top right, next to which you can see your account name. Click on the icon and select "Activate sample." Then indicate whether the sample is from you or someone else. You can also create multiple profiles, under which you can manage multiple samples, for example for other people, such as children, parents, or siblings. It's best to name profiles after names and each sample consecutively - it's entirely up to you. Each sample must be activated in an existing or new profile using the corresponding activation code. You can find the code in the instruction flyer included in your self-test kit. Then fill out all the required fields in the extensive questionnaire as far as you can. Finally, click on "Submit questionnaire." You should receive a notification that your sample is now activated and is either still on its way or already in the lab for analysis. The activated sample should now appear under "My Samples" - your sample overview, which you can access again via the person icon in the top right. Once the results are available, you can click on the sample and your analysis will open. While the sample is being analyzed, you'll see the individual steps of the lab process.

The important DNA-stabilizing solution contained in sample tubes can be used for up to two years. This means that the kit can be stored for a maximum of two years after receipt. You can also take the sample at a later date and then send it to our lab.

These are highly active and viable cultures that should establish themselves well in the gut with a normal lifestyle and diet. After a break, you can decide on an individual basis whether to continue taking the supplement. A follow-up test can provide certainty. Probiotic foods can be permanently integrated into your daily diet. However, the use of probiotic supplements should be done in moderation. We recommend limiting the intake of our products to a specific period of time or linking it to an analysis. Since only a limited number of microbes can be cultivated and supplemented, true diversity can only be achieved in the long term through an appropriate lifestyle and diet. High-dose probiotics carry the long-term risk of displacing other important strains that are not administered in such high doses. Nevertheless, decisions must be made on a case-by-case basis. If deficiencies have not yet been corrected with the cultures contained in the supplements, a second pack or even longer-term use cannot be ruled out. The colonization of the cultures can vary greatly from person to person. The focus should also be on eliminating symptoms and avoiding "over-optimization."
